WychCraft Tasting Note

"A pale golden potion with delicate red hues, WychCraft has a heady burst of fresh citrus aroma derived from three infusions of Styrian golding hops. A sprig of gentle warming malty flavour finishes with a dry biscuit note and a counterpoise of bitterness."

WychCraft's innovative new recipe includes adding three infusions of Styrian Goldings hops to the copper, to create a highly aromatic brew, bursting with succulent citrus and lime hop character. A light base of delicately flavoured English Fuggles hops, and the use of a lager malt, help retain the signature hop character and create a wonderfully aromatic and fragrant summertime beer. Beguiling to the end...

The 4 Elementals

The imagery for WychCraft depicts the 4 "elementals", or spirits from myths and fables which represent the 4 elements of Air, Fire, Earth & Water. Since the days of the 16th-century alchemists, elementals have been well denoted in text and scribe. All things are formed from the subtlest ingredients of the four elements that constitute the universe, including all legendary and mythical creatures and beer!

1) Djinn (Fire)

To "roast" the malted barley in the kiln and boil the wort

The Spirits of fire; the salamanders, basilisks and dragons dwell in fire and flames. Celtic name "Deas". They represent energy & enthusiasm, passion & will. Symbolised by fire itself, the sun, stars & volcanoes. Majical tools of a fire wand or lamp.

Zodiac signs - Aries, Leo & Sagittarius.

2) Paralda (Air)

A must for growth of the yeast.Like-minded souls of the Goblins & Faerie spirits exist in guises in air, clouds and wind. Characterised as being kind, joyful, communicative & intelligent. Plants from the sphere of Paralda include Mistletoe.
Zodiac signs - Gemini, Libra & Aquarius.

3) Nixas (Water)

To steep the barley, and constitute the mash

The Water elementals are Mermaids and water sprites, the denizens of the seas, oceans, springs and fountains. In magic, they influence purification, healing and dream magic. Sometimes also symbolised by a snake or scorpion.
Zodiac signs - Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces.

4) Ghobe (Earth)

Providing hops & barley

The little people, dwarves and gnomes, are spirited in the depths of the earth and beneath the roots of trees. Reliable, punctual, stable & preserving, if sometimes a little greedy. Symbolised by the Sphinx and Bull. The magic symbol for earth is crystals or the pentacle.

Celtic name Tuath.
Zodiac signs - Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn.

WychCraft recognises the brewer's craft in summoning together the basic elements and ingredients of the brew - to make something altogether more wonderful.
